Stark Women’s Center obstetric services extend beyond routine care provided by a physician alone. While finding an obstetric provider you’re compatible with is important, Stark Women’s Center integrated approach to pregnancy extends beyond routine office visits.
Once pregnancy has been confirmed and you have seen a physician, you will be scheduled for your first New OB visit with a nurse practitioner. This visit will consist of a detailed history, education, examination, laboratory testing, and putting a plan of care into place. Following your initial visit, you see your doctor or nurse practitioner for routine monitoring and screenings.
For some women, routine prenatal care is not enough to ensure the health and safety of the mother and baby. The services of maternal-fetal medicine may be required for some high risk cases. If this is the case, our scheduling department will make the initial appointment for you.
